JBS Australia (JBS) has received Facility Objective Carcase Measurement (OCM) Device Approval from AUS-MEAT for cold carcase grading with the MEQ camera at three of its processing facilities. It has also won the AMPC Award for Driving Innovation & Technology Leadership for the objective carcase measurement adoption project. The MEQ cold carcase grading camera is designed to replace traditional subjective assessments with technology-driven evaluations. The technology will help JBS provide good measurements that reduce grading variability and ensure consistent brand quality outcomes across all approved facilities. Together, these organisations have worked to develop and validate the MEQ camera grading system, culminating in AUS-MEAT’s formal approval earlier this year.
