A walker was airlifted to safety by “great flying skills” after suffering a broken ankle while descending a Munro in the Highlands. Kintail Mountain Rescue Team (KMRT) was called out to the South Shiel Ridge in Kintail around 6pm on September 16, following reports of the injured walker. The group had been making their way off the ridge when the accident happened. A spokesperson said: “The team were called out on Tuesday night around 6pm to an injured walker on the South Shiel Ridge. As the party were descending off the hill, one of the group sustained a broken ankle.
