Realizing that London couldn’t offer authentic pizza, he brought an Italian pizza oven back to England, together with a chef from Sicily. One of the early styles of Neapolitan pizza was the Pizza Marinara (Sailors’ Pizza) which was made using olive oil, tomatoes, basil, oregano and garlic.
