The second half of the workshop involved the launch and validation of the Environmental Action Toolkit. In line with the Escazu Agreement’s call for more available and accessible environmental information, GLA has developed the Toolkit as a resource for persons seeking background information on environmental issues, case studies of potential actions, contact information and templates for advocacy, and more. Hosted on GLA’s website at https://grenadaland.org/environmental-action-toolkit, this resource is an interactive hub for information and tools related to natural resource and environmental issues in Grenada. Through a simulation activity, workshop participants explored the Environmental Action Toolkit and applied it to a proposed development not unlike the many developments underway across Grenada. Workshops like this and resources like the Environmental Action Toolkit are key to fostering sustainable and equitable development that honours the environment while safeguarding the rights of local communities.
