The Labour Party government has faced calls from the Resolution Foundation to introduce a new pricing model in the UK. Medium EVs (about 1,800kg) would be 6p per mile, and for those heavier EVs (roughly 2,800kg), it would be 9p per mile. The charge for a light, 1,000kg EV could then be proportionally lower at around 3p per mile; and a 2,800kg car would be charged around 9p per mile.
