Bayelsa: IGP Confirms 14,000 Police Will Be Deployed For Saturday PollBy Collins AmadiThe Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has confirmed it will deploy not less than 14,000 officers to maintain law and order during Saturday, December 5, 2015 Bayelsa Governorship Election.
Inspector General Police (IGP), Mr. Solomon Arase made the confirmation Tuesday in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital, while addressing officers of the South South State Police Command.
Arase affirmed the readiness of the Police in providing adequate security, while the decisive poll lasts in the eight local Government areas of the State.
A DIG is supposed to come and supervise the election here with three additional commissioners and about 15 units of police mobile force.
Arase however cautioned the Law enforcement officers, in particular to guide against being used by the parties’ stalwarts and politicians for non-professional conducts.
