Meta Platforms is doubling down on its bet on the creator economy, rolling out a suite of new engagement-driven features on Facebook designed to expand monetization opportunities and deepen user interaction. ‘‘Fans can now take part in unique challenges from their favorite creators and earn custom top fan badges to showcase their superfan status. Access is limited to creators with 100K+ followers for Fan Challenges, putting Facebook’s creators at the center of the experience.’’ The company said in a statement issued on Tuesday morning. The features are aimed at driving stickiness on Facebook while allowing creators to diversify their income streams beyond traditional advertising revenue. “Creators are at the heart of the next phase of growth for our platforms,” Meta added.
