Broadcasters can choose between restoration, upscaling, or both, depending on their needs. “If you have a channel producing only in HD, you can just use the model that restores details without performing the upscaling to 4K,” Frydensbjerg said. Pixop is already deploying the technology with a major US network, converting linear HD channels to 4K HDR. The Ultra HD4 is the company’s first real-time product designed for broadcast and production clients.
