The registration compliance sweep operation was dubbed “Operation Blacklight” because all bad things will come to light, even in the dark,” he said. “During sex offender compliance sweeps, law enforcement officers attempted to contact registered sex offenders throughout DeKalb County to ensure each offender is following their registration requirements. “As of today, September 29, 2025, there are 85 registered sex offenders in DeKalb County. Of the 85 registered sex offenders in DeKalb County, 31 of those offenders are registered with the DeKalb Sheriff’s Department.
