More infoA consultancy firm has been awarded an almost £750,000 contract to inspect schools covered by PPP deals before they are handed back to Glasgow City Council.
One primary school and 29 of the city's 30 secondary schools are managed by 3 ED Glasgow Ltd under a public-private partnership [PPP] contract.
As the deal comes to an end in June 2030, the council has appointed engineering, development and management consultancy Mott MacDonald to assess the buildings.
Three bids for the consultancy contract were received with council officials recommending Mott MacDonald for approval at a meeting last week.
Another council official said a “senior level steering group” has been set up to manage the PPP handback process and “ensure smooth transition back to the council”.
