Nottingham City Council issues this warning after another bin lorry fire. A spokesperson for Nottingham City Council said:‘Last Friday, one of our recycling trucks had to dump its entire load onto Roden Street after a fire broke out inside the vehicle. A power bank that had been wrongly put in a household recycling bin. ‘This is the SIXTH fire inside a vehicle our Waste & Cleansing team has had to deal with this year – with another being caused by an e-scooter. ‘Please remember:– Never put electricals or batteries in any of your household bins– Use a proper recycling point (search online to find your nearest)– Or take them to the Household Waste Recycling Centre on Redfield Road.’
