Investigation officer testifies at ICT-1The mass killings during the July uprising were carried out by police and armed "activists of the pro-government political party" at 438 locations across 41 districts in Bangladesh. Md Alamgir, the investigation officer in the crimes against humanity case against the deposed prime minister Sheikh Hasina and her two top aides, made the statement today before the International Crimes Tribunal-1. Alamgir began his testimony on Sunday and continued today, with the tribunal recording his deposition until the lunch break. The charges against the trio include murder, attempted murder, torture, and the use of lethal weapons and other crimes against humanity. On August 5 last year, the Awami League government, led by Sheikh Hasina, was ousted following a nationwide movement by students and the people, forcing then prime minister to flee the country and take shelter in India.
