A death row inmate from East Texas is set to be executed this week for the December 2008 killing of his girlfriend’s child in Rusk County. Milam told police Amora wasn’t his daughter but that he was “raising” the baby, who was Carson’s child. Milam has been on Texas Death Row for the last 15 years. Another East Texas man with a pending execution is Robert Roberson, of Palestine, who was convicted of shaking his 2-year-old daughter to death in 2002. Milam and Roberson’s executions are the only two scheduled in Texas for the remainder of the year, according to the TDCJ.
