Broadband TV News
Astra satellite operator SES is consolidating its position in Germany by bringing its subsidiary HD Plus under closer control, following a management reshuffle.
From 1 October 2025, Christoph Mühleib, currently Managing Director of SES in Germany, will also take charge of HD Plus, the operating company of German DTH satellite and TV streaming platform HD+.
Mühleib will now oversee both SES operations in Germany, Austria and Switzerland and HD+, aligning the two businesses more closely.
“As TV and video consumption patterns evolve, the strategies of TV broadcasters and hardware manufacturers are also changing.
Industry observers see the decision to integrate HD Plus more closely into parent company SES and place both operations under joint leadership in Germany as a clear strategic move, with the full implications for the HD+ business likely to emerge in the months ahead.
