Drought alert leads MoDOT to waive permit fees for hay haulers

To qualify for the fee waiver, applicants must include a note referencing the exemption in their submission.
The waiver applies to the $96 blanket permit fee and the $15 single-trip fee, both of which are suspended for hay transport through Dec. 1, 2025.
Drivers hauling loads exceeding 8 feet 6 inches in width are required to obtain the special permit before transporting hay.
Transport hay loads up to 12 feet 6 inches in width with a blanket permit.
All other permit rules remain in effect, including the use of required signage, lighting, and weigh station stops.
