The Chillicothe Fire Department responded Monday afternoon to a field fire at the intersection of Highway 65 and Livingston County Route 226. According to the department’s incident report, firefighters were dispatched at 1:12 p.m. and arrived on the scene at 1:19 p.m. A brush truck, utility terrain vehicle, and tanker were deployed to combat the blaze. Mutual aid assistance was provided by the Chula Fire Department, which responded with an engine. Firefighters used approximately 2,500 gallons of water to contain the flames. The incident was declared under control, and the department returned to service at 3:11 p.m. Officials reported that the total area burned was about eight acres.
