Israeli security forces announced today the successful thwarting of a planned terror attack targeting Israel Defense Forces (IDF) soldiers at a bus stop in Acre. The operation culminated in the arrest of an 18-year-old local resident who allegedly sought to carry out the bombing in the name of the Islamic State (ISIS) terror organization. Issa Madi, an 18-year-old from Acre, is facing charges after being detained in recent weeks by the Shin Bet security agency and the Israel Police. Police allege that the target was a bus stop adjacent to the Acre train station, a location often frequented by soldiers. The security services credited the timely intervention with preventing a potentially deadly attack on Israeli soldiers.
