On the fourth consecutive day of protests, Morocco’s GenZ212 movement, a youth-driven campaign demanding reforms to healthcare and education, has called for another round of demonstrations across Morocco’s major cities. The announcement, posted Tuesday morning on Facebook, listed Rabat, Casablanca, Marrakech, and Fes among the cities where gatherings are expected. Videos shared online showed police dispersing small groups and detaining young demonstrators, in some cases deleting footage from their phones. Activists say that GenZ212 does not have a leadership structure and is not affiliated with political parties. The movement has quickly gained traction organically online, echoing similar digitally organized, youth-led protests in countries such as Peru and Indonesia.
