More infoA man has been jailed for possessing a blade in a public space after he tried to hide the weapon and taunted police on social media. Kabelo Monyebudi, of East Grinstead, was stopped and searched at Redhill train station on February 28. The 30-year-old then recorded a video of himself retrieving the distinctive knife from the bin and posted it to TikTok with the caption “got to be one step ahead of the boys in blue”. Two weeks later, he was spotted by police in Redhill as part of the Clear, Hold, Build initiative in the town. Thanks to the distinctive nature of the knife, and the TikTok video, police were able to further arrest him for the first offence and he was subsequently charged.
