(Greensburg, IN) – Greensburg Elementary students left the classroom on Friday for the annual Walk a Thon at the high school track. The event is organized by the Greensburg Elementary PTO and is the school’s only fundraiser each year. They were able to raise $38,000 to support various programs held throughout the year at the school. “This funds everything from ice cream trucks to PTO events and several convocations, and we also sponsor behind-the-scenes clubs like the Engineering Club,” said Greensburg Elementary PTO President Nicholas Gunter. “Basically, this fundraiser allows us to support our teachers and students inside the elementary school.”On Friday, the students took a short bus trip from the elementary school to Greensburg Community high school to run laps on the track.
