The University of Malta has officially opened its Academic Year 2025–2026, welcoming more than 5,200 new students to its community. The institution is also hosting 360 Erasmus+ students and 390 Visiting students registered for Micro-credentials. Mr Zammit Young encouraged students to seize the opportunity to study, question and shape society for the better. Prime Minister Robert Abela and Dr Lydia Abela attended the opening day to hear students’ ambitions. In total, the University now counts over 12,800 students, including approximately 1,800 international students from 126 countries.
