New ministerial appointments have been at the Department for Transport (DfT) as part of the cabinet reshuffle following the departure of the deputy PM, Angela Rayner. Lilian Greenwood, who was future of roads minister at the DfT, has been appointed to the new role of local transport minister. Greenwood said she was “delighted” to be reappointed to the ministerial team at the DfT having been in post since the Government was elected last year. Richard Smith, managing director of the Road Haulage Association (RHA), said: “I would like to congratulate Keir Mather MP on being appointed as a minister at the Department of Transport. “We also look forward to continuing our good working relationships with Simon Lightwood MP, and Lilian Greenwood who returns to DfT overseeing local transport.”
