['Gareth Roberts']
News news
Officials from the Department for Business and Trade have met suppliers impacted by the Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) shutdown following a cyber attack.
With vehicles not being produced, JLR has stopped placing orders with its supply chain, who collectively employ around 100,000 people in the UK.
It is in talks with the Government about financial support for its supply chain with the Unite union warning thousands of jobs are at risk.
It acknowledged that the recent cyber incident is having a “significant impact” on JLR and on the wider automotive supply chain.
“The Government, including Government cyber experts, are in contact with the company to support the task of restoring production operations, and are working closely with JLR to understand any impacts on the supply chain,” it added.
