The Road Haulage Association (RHA) has appointed David Boot as its new UK director of public affairs and policy, starting September 29.
He brings almost 20 years of experience in public affairs, policy and stakeholder engagement across the transport, science and education sectors.
He joins the RHA from London North Eastern Railway (LNER), where he headed up the stakeholder team, overseeing public affairs and community engagement across a 900-mile rail network.
In addition to key roles at National Highways and NAHT (the school leaders' union), Boot has held public affairs roles at Gatwick Airport and the National Oceanography Centre.
At the RHA, he will lead the organisation's public affairs and policy work across the UK, strengthening engagement with Government, policymakers, and key stakeholders at all levels.
