JLR shutdown extended again as crisis deepens

News news
Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) has extended the shutdown of its factories again, after a cyber attack crippled the manufacturer’s operations.
In a statement to employees and suppliers, it said that it has extended the current pause in production until Wednesday, October 1.
JLR, which is owned by India's Tata Motors, has car plants in Solihull and Halewood, as well as an engine facility in Wolverhampton.
The company is currently taking the lead on support for its own supply chain, rather than any state intervention.
MPs from where JLR has plants have called for the business secretary to consider loans similar to those offered to businesses during the covid pandemic.
