Stony Brook women’s volleyball ends nonconference play by breaking skid
['Joshua Lee', 'Sports Writer']
The Statesman
Looking to finish its road trip on a high note, the Stony Brook women’s volleyball team traveled north to the Bryant Invitational and left with mixed results.
To close the set, Stony Brook had a series of runs that attenuated much of the Tommies’ offensive rhythm.
Two aces from setter Ava Zamora would cap off a five-play scoring run, propelling Stony Brook to a 14-10 advantage.
Throughout the invitational, Stony Brook did not do itself any favors, averaging 19.3 errors per contest.
To start CAA play, Stony Brook will defend their home court at Pritchard Gymnasium with back-to-back games against the Northeastern Huskies (4-5).
