All vehicles were stopped on part of the M61 following a crash. Traffic was being held on the northbound carriageway between junctions four at Farnworth and five at Westhoughton. There was stationary traffic on the road following a collision, according to the Inrix traffic monitoring service. An update from Inrix said: "All traffic being temporarily held and stationary traffic due to accident on M61 Northbound from J4 A6 Watergate Lane (Farnworth) to J5 A58 Snydale Way (Westhoughton). The M61 southbound was also closed for a time at the M6 junction, near Preston, earlier today.
