A man has pleaded not guilty to providing an ecstasy pill to his wife, which ultimately led to her death.
Nelson Esteban Lopez Ceron, a 29-year-old Colombian national living in St Julian’s, appeared before magistrate Caroline Farrugia on Monday.
Lopez Ceron’s wife, Zamudio, was hospitalised after ingesting the substance and subsequently died at Mater Dei Hospital.
He argued that if there was a case which should be heard by a drug court, then this was the one.
Magistrate Caroline Farrugia Frendo presided over the court.
