A man who imported four kilograms of cannabis grass has been jailed for four years in line with the terms of a plea-bargaining agreement. Nigerian national Daniel Otega was arraigned in October 2022, when he was also charged with being in possession of cannabis in circumstances that denoted it was not for personal use. Otega was arrested after customs officials flagged a suspicious package which turned out to contain four kilograms of cannabis grass. The Criminal Court ordered the destruction of the drugs. Mr Justice Neville Camilleri presided over the Criminal Court.
