A car left the road and slammed into trees in Hector on Monday morning, killing a 17-year-old passenger and sending the driver to the hospital. The Schuyler County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded around 11:46 a.m. to a crash on County Road 1. The passenger, Marcus Knight, 17, of Trumansburg, was pronounced dead at the scene. The Schuyler County Coroner’s Office also responded. The crash remains under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office.
