Fire activity in the Suey Bay fire area was significantly reduced following a cold front overnight Sept. 21-22An evacuation alert for the Suey Bay fire area was lifted by the Cariboo Regional District on Monday, Sept. 22 at 11:30 a.m. The alert, issued at 5:30 p.m. on Sept. 18, applied to two parcels and covered an area of 4,598 hectares between Horsefly and Quesnel Lakes. Residents should remain prepared to leave should an evacuation order or alert be reissued in the future. The Suey Bay fire continued to be listed by the BC Wildfire Service as out of control on Monday, Sept. 22, measuring at 2,331.25 hectares. As of Monday, Sept. 22, there were 22 wildfires burning across the Cariboo Fire Centre, five of which were out of control.
