Catherine Deneuve's Chateau Gets a Thoughtful Transformation
[]

In the 1980s Catherine Deneuve bought an 18th-century château in Normandy complete with a working moat.
She hosted family and friends—Yves Saint Laurent among them, his dresses filling her closets—while her grandchildren played in the gardens.
CARTE POSTALE ANCIENNE; YACINE SADIK/COURTESY DOMAINE DE PRIMARD From left: A historic image of the château; the property today, with its restored Jacques Wirtz grounds.
From the outside, the Château de Primard embodied the refinement of the Directoire style.
You can also sit on the edge of the moat, which the owners playfully keep filled with water.
