Kidnappers free Abia Commissioner’s WifeIgnatius Okpara, EnuguWife of the Abia state Commissioner for Sports, Evangelist Esther Chigbu, who was kidnapped by unknown gunmen on the 8th of October, 2013 and eve of her husband’s swearing in by Gov. African Examiner, gathered that the abductors had demanded a ransom of N30million naira though, it was not confirmed if a ransom was actually paid to affect her release. Meanwhile, there are speculations that the unholy act may have been masterminded by political detractors of her husband. Abia state Police public Relations Officer PPRO, ASP Geoffrey Ogbonna,, could not be reached for comments as at the time of filling this report as his mobile phone was switched off. But a senior police officer who do not want his name in the print confirmed her release unhurt.
