Georgia Southern’s new unofficial Climbing Club poses that very question.
Zoe Anderson, president/founder of the revived Climbing Club, explained, “The Climbing Club technically has been around at Georgia Southern for a couple of years off and on, but the last time it was active was in 2022.” Currently, the new club isn’t officially sanctioned by Georgia Southern, although plans are in the works.
When asked about the beginning of the club, Anderson stated, “I’ve been climbing for about two years now and I work at Southern Adventures with the people who facilitate the climbing wall.
Currently, the goal is for the Climbing Club to prepare members to compete at Sendfest, but the ultimate goal is to participate in the various competitions around the southeast.
It’s for everyone!” The Climbing Club is a great place to harbor community and gain strength, and never forget that at rock bottom, the only place left to go is up.
