Thiruvananthapuram, Sep 30 (UNI) Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has announced plans to expand its Fibre-to-the-Home (FTTH) network in Thiruvananthapuram district to cross the one-lakh mark by the end of this year, as part of a broader push to strengthen connectivity and digital services. At present, the district has 67,322 FTTH connections, including 39,770 in urban areas and 27,602 in rural regions. Under its popular Freedom Plan, 17,225 new customers have joined BSNL in the district. Traditional copper-based exchanges in Attingal and Nedumangad have been upgraded to next-generation optical fibre, while FTTH connectivity has been extended to 73 gram panchayats through the BharatNet project. For enterprise customers, BSNL is offering integrated business solutions tailored to organisational size and telecom infrastructure needs.
