Judge Paul Hobson said this was a serious example of absconding, by going onto ‘commit serious offences while at large’.
The defendant and a group of friends chased the man before Al-Ahmed stabbed him several times, including after the victim fell to the ground.
After being asked to leave, and refusing, the shop worker chased the defendant outside with a bat.
In return, Al-Ahmed called on a group of men before stabbing the shop worker in the abdomen.
The shop worker was left with an 8cm deep wound which required surgery.
