TyreSafe is supporting National Highways' TRIP campaign, which highlights the importance of tyre inspections amid the challenging driving conditions of autumn. Worryingly, research shows that 55 per cent of drivers do not check their tyre tread depth before a long journey, and almost half (48 per cent) fail to regularly check their tyre pressure. Drivers are encouraged to follow the ACT principle, checking air pressure, condition and tread, to prevent breakdowns and ensure road safety. As part of the campaign, drivers are also urged to make informed choices when replacing tyres by understanding tyre ratings and labelling. Together, TyreSafe and National Highways are urging every driver to make tyre safety a non-negotiable part of their routine this autumn: inspect, check and stay safe.
