Excluding Taiwan from civil aviation talks is putting passengers at riskTAIPEI, TAIWAN – OCTOBER 07: An EVA Airways aircraft parks at Taipei Songshan Airport on October 07, 2023 in Taipei, Taiwan. For the safety of all air passengers, Taiwan must be included in the ICAO’s meetings and mechanisms, starting with this year’s ICAO Assembly. But because it is not part of ICAO, Taiwan must ask neighbouring aviation authorities to safely direct air traffic. Taiwan takes aviation safety seriously. We proactively maintain ICAO safety management standards, inviting experts to hold regular training and working with industry to establish safety oversight systems.
