After being shut down for nearly five months, the Whole Foods Market on Stevens Creek Boulevard in Cupertino reopened its doors following a serious vermin infestation. Most of them said they had been driving to the Whole Foods in Sunnyvale to do their shopping during the closure and were glad the Cupertino location was back and running again. Santa Clara County’s Department of Environmental Health previously told NBC Bay Area California’s new restrictions on anticoagulant rodenticides might’ve played a role in the prolonged closure. “Probably if they were allowed to use rodenticides, maybe Whole Foods would be open sooner,” she told NBC Bay Area. Dr.Underwood told NBC Bay Area on Monday that rodents were potentially coming from a rat harborage at a nearby field.
