The European leaders also stressed in their joint statement a need for “robust and credible security guarantees” that allow Ukraine to defend its territory. Trump is set to meet with Putin on Friday in Alaska to discuss an end to the war. Zelenskyy has maintained that Ukraine will not give up any land, and said it is up to Putin to end the war.
