A statue of President Donald Trump and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein holding hands mysteriously appeared on the National Mall in Washington, DC, this morning, September 23.
In the apparently satirical portrayal, the two billionaires stand on one foot in a giddy stance, as if skipping away together from the United States Capitol.
Plaques accompanying the installation read: “In honor of Friendship Month, we celebrate the long-lasting bond between President Donald J. Trump and his ‘closest friend,’ Jeffrey Epstein.
Tuesday’s installation builds upon a series of satirical artworks critiquing Trump, right-wing politics, and the January 6 insurrection that have cropped up around the United States over the last year.
Last October, a bronze-colored turd appeared on the National Mall, and that same month, in Philadelphia, a crudely gesturing Trump likeness called attention to his infamous “grab them by the pussy” remark.
