CANAL+ has completed its mandatory takeover offer for MultiChoice Group and is set to begin integrating the business.
CANAL+ is now in effective control of MultiChoice Group, expanding its footprint to 40 million subscribers across close to 70 countries.
“The acquisition of MultiChoice Group by Canal+ marks the largest transaction ever undertaken by Canal+, cementing the combined Group’s position as a global media and entertainment company,” the French company said in announcing the completion of the takeover offer.
David Mignot and Nicolas Dandoy will be CEO and CFO, respectively, for the company’s African operations, which will be chaired by Calvo Mawela, the outgoing CEO of MultiChoice Group.
CANAL+ and MultiChoice have both been pioneers, and we are now uniting our cultures of excellence, creativity, technology, and storytelling to create something unique.
