Laos has launched a new digital entry and exit form that took effect on 1 September 2025. The system is designed to modernize border control, improve security, and streamline the process for international visitors. According to the Lao authorities, foreign travelers are now required to complete the Lao Digital Immigration Form (LDIF) online no later than three days before arrival. After submission, the system generates a QR code that must be presented at immigration checkpoints upon both entry and departure. With this step, Laos follows regional neighbors such as Thailand and Cambodia, which have also modernized immigration procedures through digital solutions.
