Finland is looking to expand its business presence in the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone (JS-SEZ), according to Finnish Ambassador to Malaysia Anne Vasara.
She said that Finland sees potential in areas such as the circular economy, sustainable energy solutions and semiconductors.
Vasara highlighted the recent RM15.8 million investment by SRXGlobal, a subsidiary of Finnish electronics group Scanfil, to expand and modernise its facilities in Johor Bahru.
According to Bernama, bilateral trade between Finland and Malaysia amounted to €254 million in imports and €32 million in exports in 2024.
Between January and May 2025, Finland exported goods worth €101 million to Malaysia, while imports from Malaysia reached €69 million.
