The Royal Danish Embassy in Manila partnered with Novo Nordisk Philippines and Quezon City Government to organise the country’s first Obesity Summit on Wednesday 10 September 2025. The summit in Quezon City focused on debunking myths and addressing the realities of living with obesity. According to the Danish Embassy, Ambassador Franz-Michael Mellbin stressed that young people need a nurturing environment and support system to manage the disease. Participants included representatives from the Department of Education, medical professionals, food manufacturers, city health practitioners, teachers, parents and students. The Danish Embassy stated that the summit showed how promoting better health can also be fun and meaningful.
