US burger player Five Guys will open its first Australian location in 2021. Seagrass Boutique Hospitality Group (Meat & Wine Co, 6Head, Ribs & Burgers) has confirmed it is the master franchisee for Australia and New Zealand, and plans are already underway to open the first site. “We feel confident in the Seagrass partnership because of the strong operational capabilities and our joint focus on high-quality food and customer service,” says Sam Chamberlain, Five Guys chief operating officer. “We are excited to work together to grow the Five Guys brand in Australia.”The Seagrass team are currently scouting locations in Sydney, with plans to roll out 20 Five Guys stores across Australia and locations in New Zealand. 20 stores nationwide in the right locations and with the right staff,” says David Ovens, chief marketing officer for Seagrass.
