Pastry chef Keiran McKay, of Baked by Keiran, will open a new bakery on Friday 8 May in Elizabeth Bay. The French trained chef has been making bread since the age of 15, working with the likes of British chefs Tom Aikens and Jamie Oliver, as well as Neil Perry. He opened his first wholesale-only bakery in Dulwich Hill in 2017, expanding to include retail and wholesale trade from two locations in 2018. The Elizabeth Bay bakery will offer a complimentary coffee to health care workers with any bakery purchase on opening day. “I planned to open the bakery before the coronavirus pandemic,” says McKay.
