In a class by Prof Héctor Carrillo, two concepts related to heteronormativity frequently informed discussions: “heteroflexibility” and sexual fluidity. Rupp labels these patterns of same-sex behaviour as “sexual fluidity” and not “heteroflexibility” possibly for two reasons. One is that “sexual fluidity” signals a level of openness and defies easy classification.
