Late artist Mario Zamparelli’s redefined corporate branding. Rare pieces are up for auction

Zamparelli is perhaps most known for his “groundbreaking” designs for Howard Hughes’ empire.
While Zamparelli died on Sept. 8, 2012, at age 91, his life and career was a journey in itself.
Indeed, he created the corporate identity of Hughes’ vast portfolio: TWA, Hughes Airwest, Hughes Helicopters, Hughes Aircraft, Hughes Aviation, the Summa Corporation, Howard Hughes Medical Institute.
“Being an artist and a designer, he was looking for a very long time for a house,” Gina Zamparelli told the Times.
