A school counselor at Cinnabar Elementary School in Petaluma has been arrested on suspicion of sex crimes against a child, the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office said Monday. John Conant, 66, of Sebastopol, was taken into custody early Monday after deputies received a report of child molestation the day before, according to the Sheriff’s Office. Conant was booked into the Sonoma County jail on suspicion of committing lewd or lascivious acts with a child under 14. The Cinnabar Elementary and Charter School District is a one-campus district on Skillman Lane serving a TK-8th grade.
